Regular Days...
All around the world scenes like this take place all day long - chalkboards, desks, giggles between friends. Regular school days, regular life. But for kids in extreme poverty or in high conflict areas, "regular days" are not guaranteed. School is not a right, peace is not the norm. Days like this often come at a high price when they come at all.
Over the last few years, many of Haiti's children have been deprived of regular days time and again as violence and oppression infiltrated their daily life. Through it all, amazing sponsors and donors have been there - strengthening families, supporting teachers, and stepping in during emergencies.
Though the 26/27 academic year is still fresh and new, we are already reveling in the fact that so many of our students are experiencing a peace that they haven't known in a long time. Thanks to you, these brave young scholars are enjoying a real school year and know the peace and hope of just being a student on a "regular" school day.
